Argyll and Bute Council U-turn over ASN budget cuts

Argyll and Bute Council did an apparent U-turn yesterday at a full council meeting at Kilmory when an administration motion was put forward to ‘remove the option of reducing additional support needs (ASN) assistant support by 45 per cent’ from the budget proposals currently out to public consultation.

It will come as a surprise to many people that dogs can be blood donors too. And it is a service that needs new contributions all the time.

HEIGHT ISSUES AT SANDBANK

Sandbank residents are  unhappy with the height of infilled land at the Holy Loch Marina which, they say, has disrupted views of the sea for some 30 families.

However, owner Matt Downs has now applied  to Argyll and Bute Council, in a part-retrospective application, to increase the height of part of the infilled area even more.

Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park authority has this week approved  a controversial planning application for land to the south of Cuilimuich, Carrick Castle - despite vociferous opposition from local residents and the community council. Full story in tomorrow's paper.
