CASTLE TOWARD RIGHT OF WAY

With the sale of the Castle Toward estate to Denice and Keith Punler still under progress a number of south Cowal residents have written to Argyll and Bute Council regarding the ‘claimed’ public right of way - and with their complaints about the council’s tardiness in response.

Work on improving Inverarary’s historic buildings is underway. The Inveraray conservation area regeneration project (CARS) is a £2million-plus scheme which will ultimately improve the town’s key historic buildings. It runs until March 2018.

ENERGY giants SSE announced this afternoon that all 37 remaining Scottish Hydro Electric shops in Scotland are to close with the loss of 119 jobs. The store in Dunoon’s John Street (above) was unexpectedly closed today (Thursday)
