Appointment of the Chair of the Board of David MacBrayne Limited
Two/Three year appointment from 1 January 2020

Scottish Ministers are looking to appoint a new Chair to the
Board of David MacBrayne Limited (DML).
With over 160 years’ experience, DML is one of Scotland’s
longest continually running businesses, and one of Scotland’s
largest logistics companies. It employs around 1500 people with
an annual turnover of approximately £200 million. The current
largest subsidiary company is CalMac Ferries Limited (CFL)
which is the UK’s largest ferry operator in terms of ships and
destinations served and one of the largest transport operators
in‰Scotland.
While some knowledge and experience of the sector would be
benefi cial, the candidate does not need to come from a maritime
background. It is as likely that they will have worked in an
outsourced or major services/contracting background and will
have experience of operating across the private and
public‰sector.

Deputy Care Home Manager Vacancy
We are currently looking to recruit a Deputy Manager
to join our highly motivated and committed team. The
successful candidate will need to have experience of caring
for older people in a “can-do” approach and excellent
communication skills, but most of all, the compassion
needed to deliver the highest standard of care and support
for all our residents to ensure are supported to enjoy fulfilled
lives.
Minimum qualifications required for this position
• SVQ 3 or equivalent. Willing to work towards an SVQ 4
Management Award
• Two years supervisory experience in a residential care
setting or equivalent
• Experience in leading and supporting a team to reach
their full potential
We are also looking to recruit the following:
• Cook - 17 hours per week
• Kitchen Assistant - 12 hours per week
• Activities Assistant - 16 hours per week
• Bank Care Staff

our dedicated vibrant team in the busy and expanding
marine hatchery. There will be opportunity to experience
all aspects of the marine hatchery.
