Drama students from Dunoon Grammar School were at Dunoon police office last Friday shooting a video for No Smoking Day aimed at Primary 7s.

Chloe Whitton played a police officer entering a building on fire with ‘person reported’.

Aillie Stewart acted the ‘person reported’ drunkenly weaving her way ‘home’ - played by the police barracks – with a ciggie in hand.

Unfortunately the smoke ‘bomb’ the girls were hoping to use in the video failed to materialise.

The video, entitled ‘Up in Smoke’ was filmed by Isla McGarry. The three girls were working under the supervision of head of drama at Dunoon Grammar School Mairi Thomson. Fiona Duncan, an oral health improvement practitioner at Dunoon community hospital, told the Standard: “We’ve done a few collaborations with the drama students and we hope this will get the ‘no smoking’ message across.”

Acting instruction on how to behave like a police officer was given by Sergeant Forrest.
