NEW HYDRO SCHEME AT COLINTRAIVE

A new hydro electric scheme was officially opened last week, and it aims to provide the equivalent energy per annum as providing power to 86 homes. The scheme is expected to have a lifespan of over 50 years. The scheme at Colintraive harnesses the natural flow of the Milton Burn.  The project will provide an electrical generating capacity of 830MWh per annum, which will enter the National Grid, providing green, renewable energy for use nationall.
