The Canti Amici singers (above) from Glasgow will be performing at a special concert, planned for Innellan Church on Saturday November 21.

The concert starts at 7.30pm when an evening of very varied music will be performed along with some attractive pieces for organ.

Canti Amici, - a flexible group of singers, directed by Jonathan Hawkins, -formerly a member of Scottish Opera - have given many highly successful and sold-out fundraising concerts in the Scotland’s central belt and Ayrshire, where their performances have been very well received by delighted audiences.

Most of these were in aid of good causes - as is this one, which is in aid of Cowal Hospice and church funds. At the last count they had raised over £40,000 at their concerts!

Canti Amici, who for this occasion will be seven singers, said they were “delighted to be coming to Innellan to help raise money for Cowal Hospice”, and are looking forward to their visit. They will be accompanied by their regular pianist, Lynda Norris, who is well known in Cowal and Glasgow.

The evening’s repertoire will be particularly varied, ranging from The Rhythm of Life, Deo Gracias, excerpts from Les Miserables, West Side Story, and My Fair Lady to songs by Rogers and Hammerstein and some Scottish pieces – to name only a few.

There will also be some attractive pieces for organ by Vierne and other French composers, played by Philip Norris, who invited the Canti Amici singers for this concert.

Tickets, priced at £7 (including interval refreshments) are available at The Observer shop, or at the door. Everyone is warmly welcome to come along and enjoy what promises to be a wonderful evening!
