Transport Scotland has announced that CalMac ferry MV Coruisk will be deployed on the Dunoon-Gourock route from tomorrow (Tuesday December 22) until the end of March.

A spokesman said: “The Coruisk will provide four additional return peak time sailings and provide additional bad weather cover on the Argyll Ferries Ltd operated route.”

Coruisk will be used on the 7.15am, 8.20am, 5.45pm and 6.45pm sailings from Dunoon, and the 6.45am, 7.50am, 4.50pm and 5.50pm sailings from Gourock, as well as being on standby for bad weather cover during the remainder of the day.

The spokesman continued: “The decision follows discussions between Transport Scotland, the operator and local ferry users and after consideration of evidence from the vessel's deployment over the past two winters.”

Coruisk had been scheduled to enter the Dumnoon route from December 28, but her maintenance refit did not take as long as expected.
